How to Effectively Partner with Your Boss:
A Workshop for Administrative Professionals


Administrative professionals are the lifeblood of any organization.  In order to maximize their effectiveness, they should be trained in the skills and abilities of those in management and leadership roles.  To that end, we offer the following course: 

Partnering with Your Boss for Total Organizational Success ™ 

What you’ll learn: 

  • Maximizing your role – how to be a valuable partner to your boss
  • How to initiate and deliver a significant organizational change effort
  • Partnering with your boss – how to ensure both of you know and respect each others’ priorities
  • Prioritizing projects – how to determine which are the most important
  • Four valuable planning tools to make you more effective
  • Understanding your SELF – how your personality defines who you are and how you operate
  • Understanding your BOSS – how to better communicate with your boss to maximize both of your productivity

This course uses the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) to explore personality preferences.  Attendees will have an opportunity to experience these differences in an interactive environment and receive individual one-on-one coaching with the instructor to explore the findings further.

Tools: Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (taken beforehand) 

Module III – Problem Solving

  • Dealing with Difficult People

  • Leveraging Changes

Tools:  Force Field Analysis, Flow Chart, Cause and Effect Diagram, SMART Chart 

Module IV – Adding Value

  • Meeting management

  • Tools: Nominal Group Technique, brainstorming

  • Gatekeeping

  • Managing information flow

  • Negotiation skills

  • Organizational Politics
